It was confirmed in May, 15th, 2003 by the decision of city council session. Azure; two keys in saltire or, on their crossing railway sign argent - wheel with a flange which leaves two wings; on a base argent are two wavy fesses azure. The shield enframed by or cartouche and crowned by argent urban crown with three prongs.
The wheel with wings (a railway emblem) specifies that Chop is a railway junction. Keys mean gate to Ukraine, and also posts of customs service. Wavy fesses specify geographical features of a city (two rivers). The author is A.Hrechylo. Image on site V.Napytkin.
