The flag

It was confirmed in August, 23d, 2005 by the decision of XXVIII city council session of IV convocation.

Rectangular panel with the sides ratio as 2:3 has two equal horizontal strips - blue and red, the center of the flag is a horizontal blue stripe in width in 1/10 of the flag height, bordered by yellow stripes in width in 3/100 of the flag height.
The upper band represents the majesty and beauty of the ancient city, the lower means the courage of the city defenders in 946, when Ol'ga has burned city, and in 1941 during the Second World War. The middle strips symbolize Uzh river.
