The modern emblem
It was confirmed in May, 21st, 2004 by the decision #54-23 of XXIV city council session.
Per pale by Azure and Vert. Apple branch Or with flowers Argent and a mining hammer Or in saltire, on a base Sable is date 1954 Argent.
Apple blossom, which appears in the May, alludes to the name of the city ("Pershotravens'k" means "May, 1st". Pluggers represents the hard work of the miners and their families. The azure color symbolizes peace of Ukrainian sky, vert means spring grass and life, sable means coal.
