In the end of XVI century prince Vasyl'-Kostyantyn Ostroz'kyi, who has based Ostroh academy, - has found city on Krasna river. In honour of prince city waw named Vasyliv. Two hundred years city has castle. The decline of city was held from the end of XVIII century. Vasyliv has turned on village, which did not have even an own church. One from few attributes of former greatness was catholic cathedral.
