MOHYLIV-PODIL'S'KYI

The first mention refers to 1595. The owner of the town Yarema Mohyla gave it as a dowry to his daughter. S.Potots'kyi named the town Mohyliv in honor of his father-in-law. In the first quarter of the XVII century Mohyliv became one of the biggest towns of Podillia. Since 1648 it was a regimental town. In 1743 it has received the Magdeburg Right.
